Checking For a Domain Name Safely

When it comes time to brainstorm what domain you’d like to choose for your niche blog, it’s a good idea to use a safe domain checker. Why?

Though it’s frowned upon, some domain registrars monitor when people check for available domains and if they think it might be valuable enough, they’ll snatch if before you have a chance to register for it. Their goal is to resell it at a higher price or simply squat on the domain.

It’s happened to me a couple times when I’ve been brainstorming for blogs. So now, I use this great little tool called Suso Safe Domain Checker.

All you need to do is type in the domain you’re looking for and it will tell you whether or not it’s registered (it will accept any TLD). They also provide an explanation showing how they run the check, proving that you can trust them.

Check out Suso’s Safe Domain Checker.

  3. Thank you so much for pointing out this tool. It is so hard to get a good domain these days, when your budget is pretty much “registration fee”. This at least gives the little guy a chance.
