WordPress Wednesday: Savings Goal Tracker Widget for WordPress

February 25 1 Comment Category: Tool Tips, Wordpress Wednesday

This is one thing that I can’t believe there isn’t a working WordPress plugin for, a simple savings goal monitor.

Many people like to show off their savings goal on their blogs. It helps motivate them to achieve their goals and gives a personal insight into your goals.

There’s a very cool tool from Dollar Times which will do all the hard work for you. Simply enter the data and it will give you the HTML code. All you need to do is paste the HTML code into a new WordPress Text Sidebar widget and you’ve got your goal progress bar.

The result will be something that looks like this:

Trip to England

$0
$2,500

You can change the colors to have it look like however you want and you can change the currency format. You could also conceivably alter this to track any type of goal that has a number element.

The only catch is that you’ll have to re-do the code every time you reach a new milestone in your goal (unless you’re familiar with HTML and can change things yourself). This works perfectly as a solution for a goal tracking widget for WordPress.

Happy Goal Setting!

  1. Thanks Jonathan, that’s a nice tracker.

You may also check out http://www.GoalsOnTrack.com, a very nicely built web app designed for tracking goals and todo lists, and has time tracking. It’s clear, focused, easy to navigate, worth a try.
